Introduction
The purpose of this document is to provide a clear overview of the data Youth Work Ireland Galway (‘us’, ‘our’) collects from you by visiting our website, your rights in relation to your privacy and personal data and offer transparency on how your personal data will be stored and used.

A Data Controller is defined as an entity that controls where data they collect is processed and/or used. In this case, the Data Controller is Youth Work Ireland Galway.

What we collect:
The Youth Work Ireland Galway website does not collect any personal data from you when you visit it. Google Analytics will, on our behalf, collect your IP address, the browser language settings, the type of device you are using, and its operating system, how you interact with the page and where you initially clicked the link from.
Personal data will be collected, with your consent, when it is inputted and sent using the contact form.

What happens to your data?
The data collected from interacting with our website will only be used to understand and produce statistics on where people find and use it. Personal data will not be collected or used unless it is consented to; e.g.: entering your name and contact information into the contact form.

What are my rights in relation to my data?
- To request a copy of personal data and its use, in a commonly used format, from Youth Work Ireland Galway.

- To have your personal data erased from the records of Youth Work Ireland Galway.

Contact form
Messages and information entered into the contact form are handled directly by Youth Work Ireland Galway and sent directly to the organization's main Microsoft Outlook email, where it will be sent on to the most relevant person to answer the query. Your information is shared on a strictly need-to-know basis with the aim of helping you find the person or service most able to respond to your query. IP Addresses are collected by the host Webflow to filter spam out.
Child Safeguarding
Under Children First Act 2015, Youth Work Ireland Galway are legally required to report when a child has been harmed or is at risk of being harmed.
If information that causes us to believe a child has been or is at risk of being harmed is sent to us through the contact farm, we will need to report it to TUSLA and/or An Garda Síochána (in the case of an emergency where a child is at immediate and serious risk).
Personal Data; e.g. name and contact information, may be given to TUSLA and/or An Garda Síochána to aid an investigation. This information is handled on a strictly need-to-know basis.
Removal of Personal Data
If you would like to have your data erased from Youth Work Ireland Galway’s records, or have any other questions related to data protection, please contact info@youthworkgalway.ie. We will aim to have our Data Protection Officer process and action the request without undue delay.
This Privacy Policy was last updated on 07/11/2025 and approved by the board of Youth Work Ireland Galway on 10/11/2025. This policy will be reviewed and updated every two years.
