
Youth Information
The Youth Information Service operates from its centre in Ballinasloe. Through in-person, outreach and online methods it strives to provide a quality, confidential service and support to young people throughout Galway county and city. The service supports young people with the information and resources they need to make informed decisions and reach their full potential. Our services are designed to help you make informed choices and access opportunities that matter to you.
Our services include:
- Group Workshops – Join sessions on topics like digital safety, peer mentoring, human rights, and more
- Digital Youth Work – Connect with us online through our website, social media, and Youth Information Chat.
- Outreach Services – We come to you! Look out for us in schools, youth centres, and local events.
- European Opportunities – Learn about travel, volunteering, and study options through Eurodesk and ERYICA.
- 1:1 Support – Talk to a Youth Information Worker about anything from education and employment to mental health and relationships.
Professional staff provide information on:
- Job-seeking and Employment Skills – CV building, job applications, and interview preparation.
- Understanding rights and entitlements.
- Accommodation and tenancy issues.
- European Mobility opportunities for travel, employment and learning.
- Managing personal issues such as friendships and relationships, family, finance and mental wellbeing.
- Education and training opportunities
In addition, group activities are regularly offered:

Frequently asked questions
Through the online Youth Information Chat Service (YIChat), young people can access trained Information Staff on Mon – Fri, 4pm – 8pm and leave offline messages outside of these hours.
