Westside Youth Project

Located in the heart of Galway City’s Westside community, the Westside Youth Project provides a welcoming, inclusive space for young people aged 10–18. We work with youth from diverse ethnic backgrounds, minority groups, and those who are socially isolated or at risk of becoming so — including young people not currently engaged in education, employment, or training.

Our approach is rooted in youth work principles: building relationships, fostering belonging, and empowering young people through meaningful engagement. Activities are shaped by the interests and needs of those who attend, and include:

• Creative Programmes – cookery, art, music, dance, drama
• STEAM & Skills Development – science, technology the arts and driver theory preparation
• Health & Wellbeing – outdoor and physical activities, safe driving programmes
• Community Partnerships – collaborative projects that connect young people to their wider community

Through these programmes, we aim to support personal growth, social connection, and positive pathways for every young person who walks through our doors.
